Draila sat at a table, copying a weather report. It was dark inside the tent, since she didn't feel like putting on any lamps--it was early, about 2:00 AM outisde. She was usually the first up, luckily for her, and she get time to look out on the ice and write. Right now, she had a soft smile on her face.
Silence so far. Nice, quiet, peaceful...
"So."
Damn.
"Find any dino-bones yet, Miss Key?"
"Hello John. Nothing as of yet. How're you?"
Jonathan sneered. "I'm fine. Ben made a new album the other day."
As if I care. "Yeah?"
"Yeah."
Draila handed him the weather report. "You might want to check this out. It's supposed to snow today, big time."
"Any hail?"
"It's possible, but the report doesn't think so."
John frowned slightly, his eyes scanning the report. "You think the digs will be covered?" He waited for Draila's answer, but she was gazing at her writings. "Draila."
"Hmm?" Draila turned toward him now, closing her own 'dino-bones' report and glancing toward him, lifting a brow.
"You think the digs will be covered?" He repeated, his brows furrowing.
"Hmm."
"Is that a yes?"
"Hmm." Here, she nodded, and he groaned.
"I knew it. Damn--maybe we should cover them with something..."
"It'll just be a waste of time. You said you didn't find anything, so..." She could tell John feared losing anything he had worked for, but she forced herself not to care.
"True, true..."
The Paleontologist changed the subject. "No one else is up." Draila muttered, taking the weather report back from him.
"It's two in the morning."
"Two thirty."
"Doesn't matter."

It was quiet, and in the nearby tents, there was no light. Roxy raised a brow, Dralia is always up this early, I wonder where she is? Roxie thought, shrugging her shoulders thoughtfully. Getting up, dressed in the proper gear, she mad eher way to the main tent, walking in, feeling the warmth against herself.
I'm up! The Head Scientist said, voice warm and welcoming. A soft smile curved onto her lips.
Good morning, Dralia.....Jonathan. she said cooly, watching the two. Jade green eyes spotted the weather report. Roxy didn't know what else to say, waking up early in the morning just wasn't her thing. Yet, she had to do what she had to do.
I overheard the conversation, about the digs? Maybe we should cover them, we can't afford to lose any work, ya know? Roxy added thoughtfully, flashing the two a smile.

"John has tried and tried to find something," Jonathan cut in, "but he sadly didn't find anything as of yet." He sighed, scratching the back of his head, and kicking Draila's shin.
With a snarl, she smacked him with the sign-in book.
"Ow!" John rubbed his shoulder, furrowing his brows. "Anyway, I think we should cover 'em, we haven't even dug very deep yet." He shrugged. "Also, Draila's found a few things in the Paleo area, but the Archeo place hasn't had a finding yet, but we're looking."
"And Oceano?"
"I haven't heard anything."
"Me neither. How about you, Roxy, any new things from over there? That is your specialty, isn't it?"

Why is John speaking in third person? Roxy asked Dralia, her brows narrowing slightly, as she laughed at John.
We get it John...you could stop now. chuckled the beautiful brunette, her fair skin, a tad bit red from the cold. Roxy grimmanced as they began beating on each other.
Hey! John, you're acting like a two year old....I can't babysit you all the time! Roxy added hastily, glancing at Dralia, for her actions in hitting him back.
Since, you haven't dug deep enough, then we wont cover it, and no, not yet.

Driala took a step away from John and pointed at him.
"Er..." He glanced at Draila, gave Roxy a confused look, and shrugged. "So...where is everyone?"
"Asleep if they're here. There are a few people who aren't even on the island yet." Draila added, and she chuckled at that. "And we aren't acting like two-year-olds...we're just being childish."
"Is there a difference?"
"No, not really. Childish just sounds more..mature."
"Oooh...yeah, right." Join rolled his eyes.

Some of the others on the team aren't even near the island yet, some think this is just a game. Roxy said with a heavy sigh. She looked at the two again. One thing about Roxy, she hated being annoyed. They were like flies and she was the cow...they wouldn't leave her alone.
It's still childish and there is NO difference, now I don't want to hear another word from any of you! Roxy muttered, grinning at the two. She just needed a moment to think, thats all she really wanted.

A crash came from one of the campsites; the sound of something falling over.
"What was that?" Draila said suddenly, spinning and opening the door to outside, grimacing at the cold, narrowing her eyes at the wind.
"Probably one of those tents again. Probably mine--again. I'll go fix the Damn thing." John muttered, furrowing his brows. "Bye, guys."
Draila watched his footprints slowly disapear as the snow was blown over it. "We might have to take the tents down tonight and pitch everyone in here." SHe started laughed suddenly. "Won't that be difficult when everyone's got here!"

The sound of something crashing made Roxy jump. She was a little skiddish. She sighed before laughing softly. She followed Dralia to look out the door. The cold air rushed by and on her face. She squinted her eyes, blocking them from the cold air.
Yeah its a tent....and yes John...it is your's. Roxy said warmly, smirking.
Better get it before it flies away and you have nowhere to sleep. Roxy added as he went through the door. She couldn't help but laugh. Her tent had never down a thing. But, she was pro and putting up tents. Or maybe it was just luck...She wasn't quiet sure. Roxy turned to look at Dralia smirking.
That's true, I mean what...we only have THREE people here so far. It won't be hard for us to stay in here for a night. Hopefully the winds are better tomorrow. Which I doubt!

Draila shrugged. "The weathers been letting up lately--winter being basically over now and all..." she muttered. "Though there will be snow, but not as much as last year. Seems to be less and less snow every few years."
Draila sighed, watching John wrestle with his tent, cursing. Goofball, she thought, glancing back at Roxy. "So, why'd you get up at three in the morning?" she asked, trying to start conversation. The temperatures were cold, and she shivered, reaching for her down jacket, slipping it over her shoulders. The only sound was the sound of a zipper; zzzzpppt! Draila didn't like the silence, and shuffled her feet.
